SWAG for Shareholders Meeting

OBJECTIVE:

BNSF Railway was looking for a new show-stopping tote to sell at the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders meeting.

STRATEGY:

The in-house design team created a spec sample featuring a beautiful 14” x 7.8” Sparkle Hot-Press Decoration imprint of a locomotive on a black George Tote. The Sparkle imprint incorporates more than 10,000 2-mm light-catching dots in 6 colors. Sparkle imprinting is a customized process—every order is unique and every piece of artwork requires different dot sizes and placements. The creative team assessed the BNSF train artwork and used special design software to manually convert the art into a press-ready Sparkle format. This included determining the optimal Sparkle dot sizes and placement based on the overall imprint size and design.

RESULTS:

Reports are that the attendees loved the bags! The tote bags were sold out within the first two hours of the show. Warren Buffett saw the bags, thought the imprint was incredible and the bags can be purchased through the BNSF company store and online website by employees and train-lovers alike. There have been several re-orders since the original order!
