The decision of taking the Parkland School Division Milestones and Merits from a PDF catalogue to an online website was to streamline the processes. The Milestone and Merits program was run through a PDF catalogue for the past 10+ years, through a very manual process of collecting individual order forms through an email form and compiling orders manually.
The website allows recipients to easily browse the selections available and submit orders through the website. This removed the chances of human error, ensuring timely submission and accuracy of the orders.
The orders for all recipients were received in a much shorter timeframe (4 weeks from launch) compared to when the ordering process was more manual (6-8 weeks from launch). Recipients received confirmation emails immediately to acknowledge their selection was received.
